Twenty years ago, most people did not even use computers at work; much less have access to the Internet. Even if they did, the Internet largely consisted of email and file sharing. But today, most of the workforce has at least some type of access to the Internet while on the job. And, in addition to being able to email friends and family, they also have the World Wide Web on which they can surf for news, online stores, jokes, online music, funny videos, online dating sites, funny pictures, and even friends. People love downloading music through iTunes, shopping at Amazon, or just reading the headlines at MSNBC or CNN. Because there is so much on the Internet today, many people are using work time to surf the Internet for personal reasons.
People seem to love the sites that contain humor. Humor is becoming more prevalent in certain workplaces today, offering the employees as way to blow off a little steam from a hard day of work. Humorous sites that offer funny videos such as www.StupidMcNupid.com have become very popular lately. You can see such amazing and bizarre videos as people launching a huge water bottle rocket, a building implosion in the middle of a crowded city, even an anaconda snake biting a policeman. Co-workers love to run into the next office to share the latest funny video they found while surfing the Internet. In fact, people love these funny videos so much, VH1 created a whole show devoted to them called Web Junk 20 that highlights the best of the best.
Many people use funny pictures on their web pages, in their emails, and other places. Web sites, such as www.StupidMcNupid.com that offer funny pictures have become very popular with Internet surfers. These pages offer hilarious real and slightly doctored photos that are so funny, people are becoming addicted to looking at them. You can view funny pictures such as that of President Bush on CNN (where CNN ran the headline the Hurricane Katrina headline: “Bush: One of the Worst Disasters to Hit the U.S.”), an image of how to cheat at poker (with a little help), and the kids that decided to do a little painting (and covered the living room in white paint).
There is so much information for which one can surf on the Internet and one of the newest inventions is social networking websites such as MySpace. MySpace is the 4th most popular web site in English and the 7th most popular in any language. Receiving 4.5% of the visits of all web sites, it is the most visited site in the United States. And many of these visits are not made from home computers. MySpace currently has over 100,000,000 members and attracts a half million new members each week. MySpace attracts users of all ages including those in the workforce. Due to all the great features that MySpace offers, many people find it hard to stay away for very long. If workers have access to the Internet at their job, they are more than likely to check their MySpace account at least once a day, possibly more often for new bulletins, emails, or just searching for new and interesting friends.
However, workers spending time on the Internet can decrease productivity. While it may be okay with a company for workers to surf on their own time, such as breaks or lunch, they do not want the workers surfing for personal reasons during work hours. Some people argue that surfing the Internet is equivalent to chatting at the water cooler or while in the hallway, but most employers feel differently, feeling that it decreases their production. To help prevent this, up to 80% of all employers are monitoring work computers. This means they have the potential to view all emails you send and receive, as well as know all the sites you surf and at what times you were surfing.
During baseball season alone, baseball fans who surf the Internet during work hours can cost companies a total of $10 billion in lost productivity. This is not just an American phenomenon - a study by a software company in Australia showed that the Australian economy loses approximately $644 million a year in lost productivity due to Internet surfing.
Some employers have started limiting access to certain web sites for all employees in an attempt to curtail surfing. If you are caught surfing the Internet at work for personal reasons such as looking at funny videos, funny pictures, or checking your MySpace account, your employer may penalize you by suspending your Internet privileges or you could even be fined.
Surfing the Internet is fun and everyone does it, but to protect yourself, ask your boss about any surfing while working policies they have and keep your surfing restricted to lunch and break times.

When you travel Australia, you will definitely want to take a piece of it with you. Not just by way of photographs or video footage, but by buying some of the best souvenirs that will remind you of the Land Down Under back home. It’s time we deviated though from the usual kangaroo-printed T-shirts, and bought something more rooted to the great Aussie spirit and culture.
Then you can say you didn’t just travel Australia, but really embedded yourself in it.
Akubra hats. When you’re in sunnny Australia, it makes sense to arm yourself with sunscreen and one of these wide-brimmed rabbit fur felt hats called the Akubra. Akubra hats have been around since 1870’s, and have become an inseparable apparel for the Outback. In fact, in Aussie culture, when you mean “hat”, it’s almost always an akubra. Ask Indiana Jones.
Boomerangs. Another great legacy of the Aborigines dating some 10,000 years ago, the boomerang is a wooden implement used a weapon, for hunting, digging, music-making and ceremonial purposes. The most popular boomerang is the returning kind which if thrown properly, travels a curved path and returns to its point of origin. Great care is taken to select the branch or tree root to achieve the correct angle and grain for boomerangs. They are often finely engraved or painted with artwork.
RM Williams
When it comes to durability married with classic style, nothing beats RM Williams. Indeed, Reginald Murray Williams is the bush outfitter, with his premium range of leather boots and shoes, workclothes, moleskin clothing, belts, saddles, and many others. Every RM Williams product is invested with sense and strength, two essential virtues needed in the Outback, which inevitably have become fashionable among city-dwellers as well.
The Driza-Bone
Just like the Akubra hat, the Driza-Bone is inseparable in Australian history. The driza-bone is a raincoat made of waterproof oilskins, natural oil and cotton fibres that keeps its wearer “dry as a bone”. The Driza-Bone is usually knee or ankle length, and designed to keep a rider and saddle dry during long cattle musters in the bush. Driza-Bones are your best mates during the toughest of rainfalls in Australia.
Don’t just travel Australia. Rather, explore, plunge, get involved. Then take its whole down-underness with you back home.

Tourists all over the world look for different places of interest. Some people like historical places, some search for sports resorts especially golf, some look for pure entertainment and some move on business pursuits. There are, however, certain spots on the globe that provide a combination of all these. One of the eight core cities in England, Leeds promises to provide a combination of all the requirements of a tourist. Leeds has an area of 570 square kilometres and a temperate climate, although tourists from certain parts of the world may find it a little chilly!
In terms of tourism, Leeds is considered to be one of the most favoured cities in England. There are numerous spots to be visited. A number of exciting events are there for all sorts of people to enjoy. Shopping is a visitor’s delight here. On the other hand there are a number of historical places of interest that would attract any category of visitors who, once experiencing the delight, will certainly come back. There are museums, gardens, country houses and historic buildings. Tours can be made on one’s own or may be guided. The city tourism and the county tourism departments take care of all the requirements you might have
Tastes of tourists differ on the type of location they stay in and type of journey they undertake. Some like faster traveling by car, some like guided travel by bus, some prefer trains while others enjoy to cruise. There are a number of tourists who also enjoy trekking and enjoyment of nature using the older travelling modes like the horse, and all of these facilities are available in Leeds. That is the reason why Leeds entertains thousands of visitors every year. Leeds is quite efficient in entertaining them, providing every type of facility and entertainment. The Leeds Bradford International Airport provides links throughout the world and Leeds has got an extensive and well linked road and rail transport system. One most fascinating experience would be travelling on the Bolton Abbey Steam Railway that provides a scenic journey to the Yorkshire Dales.
Throughout the city there are several information outlets, providing information to tourists. The information includes everything that a tourist would look for such as tourist attractions, landmarks, restaurants, travel, sightseeing, transportations and maps for moving from place to place. A lot of information regarding accommodation is also provided in these information outlets, some of which are official information centres.
There are a number of very good, affordable and customer friendly hotels in Central Leeds as well as in the outlying districts. You can see why Leeds has become an absolutely enchanting destination for visitors! You can book a luxury hotel, a middle of the road hotel as well as cheap hotel and lodgings here. There are several inns and travel lodges on the outskirts of the city. You will also find a number of self-catering apartments and a few campsites are there for those who like adventurous travels. You will definitely find accommodation that will fit your budget and requirements.
A vast number of historical places and monuments are available all around Leeds for tourists who are interested in history and archeology. The Leeds City Square is the symbol of all the ancient glories the city once had. It is surrounded by a host of ancient buildings that take you down memory lane. The Leeds waterfront is, on the other hand, a place that has been converted with apt remodelling into a place of repose for tourists and diners who love to spend the evening hours there. In the city centre stands the Leeds Millennium Square. It is so vast that it can accommodate around twenty thousand people. The beautiful Nelson Mandela Gardens is situated inside the Millennium Square. Those who love fashion and design may visit the Victoria Quarter. There are quite a large number of fashion design shops there.
The places which we’ve mentioned above are some of the main attractions of Leeds. But there are more. For avid tourists there are a number of secondary attractions like the Leeds Tropical World. A main attraction for plant lovers, it contains one of the largest collections of tropical plants in the UK. Close by there’s the Lightwater Valley Country Theme Park. People love rollercoasters here! Spectacular gardens and seasonal events mark the existence of Harewood House; an 18th century manor house marvelled at by tourists for its grandeur. The Royal Armories is one of the most important modern landmarks in Leeds history. It has a vast collection of divergent military weapons and instruments. Temple Newsam is a historic mansion house with beautiful paintings, picturesque gardens, parks and natural surroundings.
The summer concerts at Temple Newsam are something to enjoy while the festival of Leeds is a musical bonanza among the world’s top events, witnessed by thousands of people in the last week of August every year. Leeds Sunday Funday is a popular event for the children. It has entertainment, puppet shows, face painting, musical and stage shows.
No reference to Leeds tourism is complete without a reference to its awesome and excellent museums. Leading museums in Leeds include the Thackray Medical Museum depicting the history of evolution of surgery throughout the ages, the 18th Century Bronte Parsonage Museum, the National museum of Photography, Film, and Television, the Ilkley Manor House and Museum, and the Eureka Museum for children.
Leeds has something to offer for every type of tourist from every country. It also offers a number of sporting events especially cricket, football and rugby. The Leeds cricket field was one of the most favored of Sir Don Bradman, the legendary Australian Batsman. A tourist interested in sports and sporting events will not be disappointed and any tourist, whether a sports lover or not, will take back home some fond memories after visiting this premier tourist city of England.

The Chinese Shar-Pei is a great family dog that has an expensive, exotic look. She is loving toward the family yet she makes a great watchdog and guard dog. She was originally bred to fight so she may fight other dogs. Take care to have her under control when walking her.
*Good With Children? They are good with older children, especially if they have been socialized at an early age. As a reminder, never leave a young child unsupervised with a puppy or dog.
*Good With Other Pets? They can tend to fight. Some are good with other animals if they are socialized with them early on.
*Trainability: They are highly intelligent but may be manipulative. They really require an experienced owner.
*Approximate Adult Size. The approximate adult size (two years old or older) of the Chinese Powder Puff is 18 to 20 inches to the withers (highest point of the shoulder) and 35 to 45 pounds.
*Special Health Considerations. Most dog breeds have certain inherited health problems associated with that specific breed and the Chinese Shar-Pei is no exception. Be on the look out for skin problems, fevers, and amolydosis (kidney failure). This disease list is an informative guideline only. Other diseases may also be significant threats, please contact your veterinarian for a complete list.
She should visit the veterinarian several times in the first year for shots, boosters and check up. Then, as an adult, she should visit the veterinarian yearly for shots and check up. As she gets older, six years and on, she should visit the veterinarian twice a year for check ups and shots. Remember; avoid feeding your dog sweets.
*Grooming. The Chinese Shar-Pei has a short, harsh coat with plenty of loose skin on the head and body. You should check folds of skin regularly to insure that there is no irritation. Brush daily if possible to help her maintain a clean and healthy coat, help you keep a closer eye on her health and strengthen your emotional bond with her.
Her teeth should be brushed at least twice a week with toothpaste and toothbrush designed for dogs. Brushing removes the accumulation of plaque and tartar which can cause cavities (rarely) and periodontal disease. Dog periodontal disease can lead to pain, loss of teeth, bad breath and other serious disease.
Her toenails may need to be examined for growth and clipped regularly. The toenails of the rear feet grow slower than the toenails of the front feet. Generally a guillotine type trimmer is the best for this chore and competent instructions to accomplish this can be found on the net.
*Life Span. The Chinese Shar-Pei can live between 7 and 12 years with proper nutrition, medical care and excellent living conditions.
* Chinese Shar-Pei History. They are an ancient breed from China dating back to 200 BC. They were first registered by the American Kennel Association in 1991.
Some Registries:
*The Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America, Inc
*UKC United Kennel Club

Darwin is situated at the centre of Australians north coast.
Founded in 1869, under the name of Palmerston. The city was renamed after Charles Darwin in 1911. During World War II it was an allied base for action against the Japanese in the Pacific and suffered repeated bombing, the only Australian town to do so. Darwin is a strange place, back on Christmas Day in 1974 the entire town was flattened by Cyclone Tracy, so everythings brand new. However there are very few old buildings dating from the towns inception in 1869 and its a very cosmopolitan city, if you can call a place with only 70,000 inhabitants a city.
It is a service centre for the northern part of Northern Territory. Industries include mining, fruit, meat canning and brick making, while in the surrounding area pastoral are farming, and tropical horticulture producing and tourism are important occupations.
Darwins gardens are tropical in nature naturally and are packed with palm trees, shady walks and waterfalls. Theres a beautiful grass amphitheatre where concerts are often held. The gardens are really attractive.
Museum and Art Gallery to see the Cyclone Tracy Room and magnificent examples of Aboriginal art. At the front of the Museum is also a great coffee shop, with beautiful ocean views.
The Darwin weather can be very draining especially if you are not used to humidity and heat. The city water is very drinkable so there is no need to buy expensive bottled water in Darwin. Just grab a container and fill it up with our beautiful water from any tap.
In Darwin people generally prefer to think in terms of the wet and the dry weather. The wet season begins in October, when humidity levels begin to climb, until by January and February the combination of heat and humidity is quite stifling. The end of the wet is characterised by the fierce storms.
There are many ways you can use your time and one is by combining some of the smaller attractions together to plan the perfect day. A few examples and recommendations include some of the following. Litchfield National Park, Jumping Crocs Cruise, Fish Feeding, City Territory Wildlife Park combined with swim at Berry Springs, Yellow Waters Cruise, Crocodiles Park, or hire a houseboat on the Mary River. Sunset dinner cruise on Darwin harbour.
The completion in 2003 of a railway link to Alice Springs and Adelaide fuelled hopes that Darwin could eventually become the continents transport hub with Southeast Asia.
A billion pound development of the cities waterfront area was recently undertaken, with a new convention centre, a large hotel, numerous cafes and restaurants, a wave lagoon and a public promenade scheduled for completion by 2008.

In an ongoing effort to truly understand the âpsycheâ of modern women, an Australian dating company has been conducting real-life, interactive research since early 2004.
So far, the researchers have met, spoken and flirted with over 6,000 women from all across Australia.
The findings present the most cutting-edge insights into modern women and the dating scene.
The following results are of women aged 18 to 45, from all nationalities, professions and physical appearances.
What Do Women Want?
In many cases, women initially said “â¦tall, dark & handsome ” when we asked, âWhat do you want in a man?â
However, with a little probing â almost all women said that looks really aren’t that important when it comes to choosing a potential boyfriend.
But, what does âLooks really arenât that importantâ mean?
It means that if a guy is confident, has a good sense of humour and is genuine â most women will give him a chance.
The problem is that most guys refuse to believe it, despite the evidence that we all see everyday, in every country of the world.
That is: Guys of all shapes, sizes, ages and races are dating beautiful women.
What a guy simply needs to do is learn how to be attractive to women.
Following are the top 10 traits that women want in men, listed in order of most preferred by the 6,000+ women weâve met so far.
1. CONFIDENCE
95% of women said that confidence was most important. More information can be found here: http://www.themodernman.com/modernmanresearch.html
2. SENSE OF HUMOUR
90% of women said that they love a guy who could make them laugh, or who has a great sense of humour.
3. GENUINE
This was another big one, with 82% of women searching for a guy who is genuine.
This can be a double-edged sword, if guys interpret to mean ‘being a nice guy’.
In an attempt to do the right thing, a lot of men will often go out of their way, again and again, to prove how genuine or nice they are.
Examples include: Doing anything and everything to appease a woman, expressing feelings too much and too often, “Just in case she thinks I’m not interested!”
The key is to be genuine, without trying to be a perfect knight in shining armor. A few chinks in your armour is normal, human…and charming.
4. MASCULINE/ ALPHA MALE/ REAL MAN
The old, “I just want a real man” popped up 72% of the time.
5. CONVERSATION SKILLS
This was an interesting find, but makes a lot of sense.
70% of women agree that if a guy can’t make confident, fun and interesting conversation, then he’ll generally be overlooked or considered as boring.
6. STYLISH / FASHIONABLE.
According to 59% of women, a sense of style is also important.
7. PHYSICALLY GOOD-LOOKING.
As mentioned earlier, the old “Tall, dark and handsome” answer was often given when asked about this. Yet, upon further questioning only 32% of women said that looks were somewhat important.
Even so, you have to remember that what one woman considers physically attractive varies from one to the next.
A lot of guys drag themselves down if they don’t have a ‘male model look.’ But, the reality is that only about 10% of guys actually have a ‘male model look’…if that.
If women were only attracted to male models, then there’d be a lot of lonely women out there…or a lot of harems run by very lucky men.
But, that’s NOT the way this world works.
Nor is it the way ATTRACTION between men and works.
The next time you’re out in public, just take a look at all the âordinary-looking’ guys who are dating beautiful women.
THAT is real life.
Looks are NOT the most important thing to women, even if you don’t want to believe it.
What is most important to a woman is how a guy makes her FEEL by way of his personality, behaviours and actions.
8. MONEY
11% of women raised this point and it makes sense.
Only during the last few decades have women in Westerm societies been able to become financially independent.
Prior to that, women were always attracted to guys who could provide a more secure environment for the potential offspring.
These days, women can survive and prosper without the financial support of a man.
9. MUSCLES
Only 8% of women said that they prefered guys with muscles.
While there’s no denying that fit bodies are attractive. However, as you see by looking around â women love men of all shapes and sizes.
Again, despite the huge evidence of this everywhere, most guys just don’t want to believe it.
10. NICE CAR
About 3% of women raised this as an attractive quality.
